How CentroKey collects, uses and protects your personal data — in plain English, under UK GDPR.
Last updated: 26 August 2026
1. Who we are
CentroKey ("CentroKey", "we", "us", "our") is a product of SAR Computing Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales. For the purposes of UK data protection law, SAR Computing Ltd is the data controller for personal data collected through this website.
- Company registration number: 12794072
- Registered office: 28 Old Brompton Road, Suite 30, London, England, SW7 3SS
- SAR Computing Ltd is registered under the Data Protection Act 1998.
- Contact for data protection matters: hello@centrokey.com
2. The information we collect
Information you give us
- Your email address, when you request a free review or ask us to get in touch.
- Your domain name, if you use the on-site "scan" — this is passed to our app onboarding to build your technology map.
- Anything you include in correspondence with us (for example by email).
Information collected automatically
- Your IP address, the page or source a request came from, and the date and time, recorded when you submit a form (used for security and to handle your request).
- A theme preference (light/dark) stored locally in your browser. This is not shared with us and is not a tracking cookie.
- A count of page visits — the page you viewed, the site that referred you, your country, and whether you are on mobile or desktop. This is our own cookieless measurement: it sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device, and we do not keep your IP address or browser user-agent — they are combined into a one-way hash that changes every midnight, so a visit today cannot be linked to a visit tomorrow, or to you.
Information in the CentroKey app
If you use the CentroKey application, we record the "map" of your business technology — for example where your domain, email, hosting, website, certificates and backups live, who controls them, and when they renew.
What we deliberately never collect or store: your passwords, your two-factor (2FA) codes, or your card or banking details. CentroKey stores the map, never the keys.
3. How we use your information, and our lawful bases
- To respond to your enquiry or provide a free review — on the basis of our legitimate interests, or taking steps at your request before entering a contract.
- To provide and operate the CentroKey service — to perform our contract with you.
- To send you a short acknowledgement email when you contact us — on the basis of our legitimate interests in responding to you.
- To keep the service secure and prevent misuse or fraud — on the basis of our legitimate interests.
- To meet legal and regulatory obligations — where the law requires it.
4. Marketing
We will only send you marketing communications where we are permitted to do so. You can ask us to stop at any time by emailing hello@centrokey.com or using any unsubscribe link we provide.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- Service providers that help us run CentroKey (for example our UK hosting and email delivery providers), under appropriate contractual protections.
- Professional advisers and authorities where we are legally required to, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
6. Where your data is stored
Your data is hosted in the United Kingdom. It is encrypted in transit and at rest using current standards. If any processing takes place outside the UK, we will ensure an appropriate safeguard (such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses) is in place.
7. How long we keep it
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above, and to meet our legal obligations. Lead and enquiry details are kept for 24 months after our last meaningful contact, unless you ask us to remove them sooner.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to: access your personal data; have it corrected or erased; restrict or object to our processing; data portability; and, where we rely on consent, to withdraw it at any time. To exercise any of these, email hello@centrokey.com.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to help first.
9. Cookies & local storage
CentroKey's marketing site uses no tracking or advertising cookies, and we do not use Google Analytics or any third-party analytics service. We store a single theme preference in your browser's local storage so the site remembers light or dark mode.
We do count visits, using our own cookieless measurement. It sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device. We do not retain your IP address or browser user-agent: they are combined into a one-way hash that is regenerated every midnight, so we can tell how many people visited without being able to identify you or follow you from one day to the next. Nothing we keep from this is personal data, so no consent banner is required. If we ever introduce cookie-based or advertising analytics, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.
10. Children
CentroKey is a business service and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
12. Contact us
